Running is one of the best sports for kids. In addition to school teams, San Luis Obispo has two terrific track clubs for boys and girls of all ages. All you need are sneakers — plus a little bit of grit.
SLO Town Track Club
This USATF club in San Luis Obispo is led by Tonie Amaral, a UC Davis track alumni, and Nick Gammal, a Cal Poly track alumni. They encourage runners of all levels, from beginner kids to high school athletes. Speed, agility, and coordination are emphasized throughout the training. Runners get to practice on the Cal Poly campus!
