Benefits of Rock Climbing for Kids and Teens
Research shows that rock climbing improves physical and mental health in kids and teens. Here are some of rock climbing’s amazing benefits:
- Encourages problem-solving: Rock climbing is like working on a puzzle; kids must figure out which rocks to use to help them move up the wall.
- Promotes body awareness: Climbers need to constantly assess their position and location on the wall, which helps them develop spatial awareness.
- Strengthens motor skills: Climbing is a full-body workout! Fine motor muscles in the fingers must grab rocks tightly, while gross motor muscles in the arms, legs, and back propel you up the wall.
